With my images I strive to cultivate fascination and excitement for the natural world and its inhabitants. Many of the species I choose to depict are threatened or lesser known creatures.
The Sumatran Rhinoceros is one such animal. Despite its great size, this shy and solitary forest dwelling behemoth is actually the smallest of the five living species of Rhinoceros. Like all other Rhinos, it has been poached relentlessly for its horn, which is highly valued in traditional Chinese medicine and can fetch a price higher than gold. It is by far the hairiest of all the Rhinos and the only two-horned species found in Asia.
The Sumatran Rhinoceros is a critically endangered species.
