It was Rachel's birthday. My daughter Georgia and a half dozen three year olds cranked up on birthday cake and mob energy had been tearing around this huge old New England house all day long. The real nooks and crannies of this residence weren't discovered by these two little girls until the other kids had all gone home. With their bedtime long passed and the sugar buzz quickly wearing off the two survivors went into Rachel's room to regroup on the bed with a Barbie or two. Meanwhile, downstairs my wife and her friend were interrupted by the relatively sudden silence coming from the second floor. Immediate inspection revealed two little girls sleeping on top of each other in an impossibly uncomfortable criss-crossed-kinda-way....from which they didn't move until the next morning. The moms took these shots that became the sky for this twilit dreamscape where pillows become clouds.
