Sonni was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Growing up, he showed a great interest in drawing and painting. He double majored in Graphic Design and Illustration/Silkscreening at the University of Architecture and Urbanism of Buenos Aires and worked as a graphic designer for numerous international film and design companies upon graduation.
He soon began his independent career as an illustrator and Art Director for animation studios. 
Sonni's work has been published in magazines and books in Argentina and internationally.
Sonni began painting murals in different neighborhoods in Buenos Aires creating a following with his cheerful characters de faciones, painted in primary colors. He is considered to be part of the first generation of street artists in Argentina. Sonni was commissioned to do a public mural in Buenos Aires subway stations and the Glace Palace Museum and has also participated in solo and group shows in Argentina, Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, The United States, Canada and Taiwan. In 2008, he became Senior Art Director at FriendsWithYou where he produced artwork for commercials for, Energizer, VH1, Nick Jr, Dunkin' Donuts, Sanrio "Hello Kitty," MTV, Native Shoes and other top brands.
In December of 2010, Sonni was commissioned to paint two murals for Art Basel Miami. His 30 ft high "BoomBox" was named Best Public Art of 2011 by the Miami New Times. Shortly after, Sonni put on three solo shows: two in Miami and one in New York for the world's largest character design fair, Pictoplasma.
Sonni currently lives in New York where he is doing what he loves best.
