Réka Király was born in 1977 in Budapest, Hungary and currently lives in Helsinki, Finland. She works in the field of graphic and surface design and illustration. As a kid she regularly would sit in her interior architect parents' studio and draw in the dust under her father's woodworking bench colorful and fun pictures of all kinds of creations. The use of vivid color combinations accompanied her journey to the North and she continues to be inspired daily by the exciting light conditions in Finland. She is fascinated by the constant change in nature and in everyday life, by modularity, curious collections, dialogues, juxtapositions and the “what if?” of life.
Since 2009 Réka has been designing surface patterns for textile and paper products mainly for children and in 2012 her first children's book "It's snowing, Lupo!" in collaboration with Marika Maijala was published.
