Vik Muniz and the paper cranes

photo by Andrew Moore for the New York Times

This is absolutely lovely. Brazilian-born, Brooklyn-based artist Vik Muniz took thousands of the paper cranes made for Japan to make one large scale crane which will be photographed for a fund-raising poster. Children were invited to make origami cranes by the non-profit Bezos Family Foundation for Students Rebuild in Seattle. The organization received over 2 million cranes prompting the Foundation to double their original donation to $400 000. Read all about it in the New York Time Magazine.
