It's Friday!

It's friday and that means we're heading into one of the last lazy weekends of August (*sigh*)... Luckily there are lots of things on our radar to keep us feeling excited and creative through fall - from new shows and publications from LittleCollector artists, to new blogs we're loving and brand new styles for back-to-school.

- If you're in the Hamptons this weekend, be sure to check out LittleCollector's own Darlene Charneco's new show of mixed media work, Islands of Memory, at SOLAR Gallery in East Hampton. You may remember her incredible diorama from LittleCollector's Preview Party at Salon 94 from last fall (above)

- For those whose idea of the perfect weekend is a good book, Portland-based photographer Grace Weston is featured in the newly released and gorgeously illustrated, Microworlds about how visual artists & designers are using miniatures. Congratulations Grace!

- One of our favorite design magazines, Rue, had a beautiful new tumblr chock full of design ideas and inspiration that is sure to lead of many hours of daydreaming, while our lovely friend Kate Sullivan of Cake Power Kids joins Martha Stewart living as a guest blogger.

- And finally, Missoni for Target arrives just in time for back-to-school on September 13th with enviable styles for mums and kids from the venerable Italian fashion line. We want it all, especially the zigzag bike!
