Seth Neefus and Abe’s Peanut

If the LittleCollector team loves one thing as much as art, it's got to be reading. And that's why we're thrilled to announce our new project with Abe's Peanut, a mico magazine for kids, who will be collaborating with LittleCollector artist Seth Neefus and writer Cynthia Hawthorne on a postcard story just for children. The first chapter and illustration will be released on May 5th.

Abe's Peanut works with one artist and one author per month to write and illustrate an original story for kids, which is divided into four parts and sent to subscribers on a weekly basis. It's a great way to get kids excited about both art and reading!

Abe's Peanut will also release in August a postcard series featuring a story by LittleCollector educational consultant Amanda Hendricks and artwork by Yukie Yasui.  And to celebrate, we'll be teaming up with the Children's Museum of the Arts to host an event on Governors Island! Amanda will be writing the story with the kids while Yukie helps with the drawings. This event is free and open to children of all ages. Hope to see you there!

When: Saturday August 6th, 2011. 11-3.

Where: Governor's Island, New York
