The Studio Museum in Harlem is offering a wonderful art workshop for teens featuring one of our favorite artists, Firelei Baez. See below for more information and be sure to register by Friday!
HANDS ON: MYTHOLOGY
In a five-day creative-writing and painting workshop series inspired by the work of Fore artist Firelei Baez, students will craft various types of myths, or stories explaining a natural or social phenomenon. Participants will then work with Baez to generate ink and watercolor paintings of the mythical landscapes and creatures within their own narratives. The workshop will culminate in a public sharing of participants’ work and a chapbook.
Particpants may RSVP through Friday, November 16, though it is strongly encouraged to RSVP as soon as possible and to attend all workshops.
