Kent Christensen
Kent’s paintings playfully satirize modern life as well as both popular and local culture. His work is also rooted in art history and employs both modern and classical references. Originally from California, he has lived in New York since 1988 when he began illustrating for magazines and newspapers including TIME, Sports Illustrated, BusinessWeek, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune and The Baltimore Sun. Since 2006 his work has been shown regularly at London’s Eleven gallery and in 2012 at New York’s Volta Art Fair. He holds degrees in studio art from the University of Utah (MFA), Art Center College of Design (BFA with Honors) and a degree in Art History from Brigham Young University (BA).
